Luke Lo, Chair, Diamond Wood China snap

 

Dr Lo is an international business leader with over 35 years’ experience developing new technology-driven businesses in the Greater China and ASEAN markets.

During the past 20 years he has built a multinational construction equipment company, based in Shanghai, which markets new products and services into government public works projects in China and throughout Asia. His company was recently acquired by Husqvarna of Sweden.

He has been a proponent of Accoya wood’s huge potential in China since he first encountered the product in 2008.

Dr. Lo has a Master Degree in Business Administration (MBA) from Lawrence University in the US, and a PhD from Jiao Tong School of Economics in Shanghai. He is based in Shanghai.

Bruce commenced his financial career in investment banking prior to moving into industry and private equity.  At Scottish & Newcastle plc, he led and delivered a number of unique and class leading transactions to build out the highly profitable leased pub estate.  In private equity, he sourced and executed a variety of real estate transactions throughout Europe.  Since then, he has been CFO of a number of companies, including successfully floating a US business on London’s AiM stock exchange.

 

He has significant corporate experience, from negotiating debt and equity investment, managing rapid growth and financially navigating organisations through material events to achieve their strategic goals.

 

Bruce has a BA in Commerce, is a Member of the Chartered Institute of Bankers and holds an MBA from Strathclyde University.

Stephen Smedley, Finance Director, Diamond Wood China snap

 

Stephen qualified as a Chartered Accountant with the Institute of Chartered Management Accountants (CIMA) in 2004 after working as a financial controller within the public sector. He then took the opportunity to move to Gibraltar and work for a large international gaming company where he led the implementation of advanced data mining to improve the quality and accuracy of complex reporting for the board of directors. After several years in this position, he the took on the role of group financial controller for a Private Family Office working with a syndicate of investors who had a diverse portfolio of investments in including online marketing, healthcare, and environmental science. He was responsible for setting and developing the finance functions across the various businesses, ensuring robust financial reporting and risk management controls. Stephen has been involved with the Accoya Wood business for more than 15 years and brings over 25 years of experience in an international business environment.

Jason Wang, COO, Diamond Wood China snap

 

Jason joined Diamond Wood in 2008 and became CEO of CBM in December 2016.  He is an experienced executive, with over 25 years of commercial experience in China and Asian markets.  He has negotiated land purchase and investment agreements with the Chinese government.  He has negotiated investment agreements with Chinese state-owned chemical groups.

Jason has led the marketing and sales of performance wood product in China and Asia.  He led the marketing and sales of Acetyls products in China for Celanese.  Jason has a Master’s in chemical engineering from Arizona State University.

Gregory Lee, Director, Diamond Wood China snap

Greg was the founder of Diamond Wood China in 2007.  He has 30 years experience working with new technologies and has founded and led two software companies in Europe and a third in China.

Prior to being an entrepreneur, Greg had multinational experience, including working in China with Phillips Electronics’ Digital Storage components as Worldwide Marketing and Product Director, and in Japan in a global marketing role for Yamaha Electronics.  Greg has an M.B.A. from the IESE Business School.

Charles has over 30 years petrochemical project management experience working with Chinese state owned and international companies. These include, CNOOC-Shell Nanhai, BASF-Chongqing, BP, NES Global and GE Oil and Gas China.

Mark is an international business leader with a 30-year track record of transforming commercial, operational and financial performance in the energy & chemicals sectors.  He has deep experience of Joint Ventures, China and Acetyls.

 

Whilst at BP, Mark led a series of wholly owned and joint venture chemicals & plastics businesses including 10 years based in China.  He was Deputy General Manager, BP’s senior secondee, of SECCO a $4bn Joint Venture between BP and Sinopec and was later Vice-Chairman of the company.  He also was CEO of the Global Acetyls business that manufactured both Acetic Anhydride and Acetic Acid and had 6 JV’s across Asia as well as operations in Europe and the Americas.  It was in this CEO role at BP that Mark became familiar with the Accoya® Wood business as BP’s relationship with Accsys Technologies developed.

 

After leaving BP, he worked in India as Head of Petrochemicals for an independent refiner selecting a JV partner and agreeing outline terms. He was also CEO of Essar Oil UK.

 

Mark has a degree in Electronic Engineering, is a member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants and completed the Program for Management Development at Harvard Business School.
